Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 10 June 2025 · Effective date: 10 June 2025
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Brasswind", "we", "us", "our" refers to the workshop operating under the name Brasswind at 76 Charoen Krung Road, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
- "Client", "you", "your" refers to any person enquiring about or using our services.
- "Services" refers to watch repair, restoration, and assessment work carried out by Brasswind.
- "Piece" refers to any watch or timepiece brought in or sent to Brasswind for service.
- "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions together with any specific service agreement communicated at the time of drop-off or engagement.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an enquiry, dropping off a piece, or engaging our services in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. You must be at least 18 years of age to engage our services. By proceeding, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement and, where applicable, that you own or are authorised to present the piece for service.
3. Service Description
Brasswind provides mechanical watch repair, restoration, and assessment services. The three primary services — Dial & Hand Refurbishment, Self-Winding Rotor Service, and Heritage Piece Assessment — are described in detail on our website. Services are carried out from our Bangkok workshop and are available to clients who visit in person or who send pieces by post following prior arrangement.
We reserve the right to decline a service request if the piece is not suitable for the work requested, or if carrying out the work would not be in the interest of the piece or the client.
4. Service Scope and Agreement
- The scope of each service is discussed and agreed before work begins.
- If additional work is identified during service, we will communicate this to you before proceeding. No additional work will be carried out without your agreement.
- A verbal or written confirmation from the client constitutes agreement to proceed.
- We document the condition of each piece on arrival. This record is available to the client on request.
5. Payment
All prices are quoted and invoiced in Thai Baht (฿). Published service prices are base fees. Where a service involves additional parts or unexpected complexity, any additional costs will be communicated before they are incurred.
Payment is due on collection or delivery of the completed work. We accept cash and bank transfer. We do not store card payment information.
Pieces will not be released until payment has been received in full.
6. Custody and Care of Your Piece
- Pieces in our custody are stored securely and handled with appropriate care.
- We are not an insurance service. Clients are encouraged to maintain their own insurance for high-value pieces.
- In the event of accidental damage caused by our workshop, we will discuss the matter directly and in good faith with the client. Our liability in such cases is limited to the cost of the service engaged.
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage that was present on arrival and documented as such.
7. Collection and Return
Pieces may be collected in person from our Bangkok workshop or returned by post to a Thai address following prior arrangement. Postage costs for return are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed.
If a piece is not collected within 60 days of completion notification, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the client. Pieces uncollected after 90 days may be disposed of in accordance with applicable Thai law.
8. Timelines
Turnaround estimates are provided in good faith based on current workshop load. They are not contractual commitments. We will notify you promptly of any significant delay. We are not liable for losses arising from delays outside our reasonable control.
9. Disclaimers
Watch repair and restoration involves technical judgement and inherent uncertainty. While we take care and apply skill to all work, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes — particularly for older or unusual pieces. Our assessments and written reports represent our honest professional view and are informational in nature. They do not constitute a valuation and should not be relied upon as such.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable Thai law, our total liability to you in connection with any service is limited to the fee paid for that specific service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses of any kind, including loss of value or sentimental significance.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, images, and design — is the property of Brasswind. It may not be reproduced or distributed without our written consent. Written assessment reports produced by us remain our intellectual property but are provided to you for your own personal use and reference.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from our services should first be raised with us directly at [email protected]. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally. Where informal resolution is not possible, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
13. General Provisions
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Brasswind and the client in respect of the subject matter herein.
- If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
- Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- These Terms may not be assigned by the client without our written consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after the revised Terms are posted constitutes acceptance.
